Here is a neat piece of mail art from Bernhard Zilling of Germany. He writes that his dictionary didn't contain the word "Chromatophore." So I thought I'd give a brief explanation of the word. It's a scientific term that describes a animal cell that changes color or reflects light. Some animals that have and use these cells are: cuttlefish, chameleons, octopus. Fish, amphibians, reptiles, crustaceans, cephalopods can have chromatophore cells. Some bacteria can also have chromatophore cells... But, you can look at this word in a much broader way...
like the idea of changing colors and reflecting light. So I hope that helps... just as a description not any rule to be followed! Does a leopard change it's spots? No, but an octopus does!
